I never realized how big this facility was until now. This place could hold hundreds of humans for years, and yet it’s so empty and desolate. Each footstep I make reverberates off the metal walls and echoes until it fades away. I swear I’ve been following this maniac for hours until we finally reach a room with cabinets stocked full of medical supplies, completely untouched. Ell1s floats in and leans against the wall, watching me from afar. “I’m sure you can get yourself patched up, right? Well, I would help you. If I could.”
My body aches and the slash across my chest continues to bleed, and yet he acts like it’s nothing. I can feel myself getting lightheaded, but I guess I should bandage myself up to the best of my ability before I do. Rummaging through the cabinets, I grab a handful of gauze and rolls of bandages, wincing as I make a poor attempt to patch myself up as Ell1s fidgets with his tie in the corner.
It hurts so bad, and yet I feel numb. After everything that has happened and everything that I’ve been through, I don’t even seem to care how much blood I’ve lost. It only really occurs to me that I should finish covering up the wound when I feel my vision getting dark and blurry, my mind beginning to spin dizzily. Losing sight, I stumble to wrap the bandages tightly and place them back into the cabinet as I fall to the ground.
I hear him speak up again and he floats over to me as I become more disoriented with each passing second. “Hey- don’t try to stand up, you’re gonna hurt yourself even more… Look, if you weren’t so stubborn, we wouldn’t be in this situation. Take it easy for now and we can talk things out later. There’s a sector nearby full of living quarters you can rest up in. I’m sure you haven’t slept in an actual bed in a while, hm?” Giving me a small smile, he floats next to my pale body, fighting consciousness on the cold metal floor.
I don’t respond. It takes me a few minutes to recollect myself as he waits for me to be stable enough to walk again, like this is normal to him. The way he acts is exceptionally annoying.
