Chapter 14 - Dizzy
I never realized how big this facility was until now. This place was designed to house hundreds of humans for years, and yet it’s so empty and desolate. Each footstep I make reverberates off the metal walls and echoes until it fades away. I swear I’ve been following this maniac for hours until we finally reach a room with cabinets stocked full of medical supplies, completely untouched. Ell1s floats in and leans against the wall, watching me from afar. “I’m sure you can get yourself patched up, right? Well, I would help you. If I could.”
My body aches and the slash across my chest continues to bleed, and yet he acts like it’s nothing. I can feel myself getting lightheaded, but I guess I should bandage myself up to the best of my ability before I do. Rummaging through the cabinets, I grab a handful of gauze and rolls of bandages, wincing as I make a poor attempt to patch myself up as Ell1s fidgets with his tie in the corner.
Waves of searing, sharp pain crash throughout my chest as I disinfect the wound, and I huddle over in pain, quickly trying to bandage up my injury before I pass out. Blood faintly seeps through the bandages, so I wrap as many on as I can until it’s no longer visible. I stand back up, and my vision begins to grow dark and blurry, my mind spinning dizzily. I stumble to the ground, unable to stand up any longer.
Ell1s quickly speaks up again and floats over to me in a panic. “C- careful! I can’t have you hurting yourself even more…”
“Ah, geez… You’re in worse condition than I thought… I- I mean, partially my fault, but…”
“Let’s just… rest here for a bit. Once you start feeling less dizzy, I can guide you to the living quarters, you can get some rest, and we can start things off better, alright?”
I stare at the ground, feeling the fresh wound on my chest throb, as waves of pain still crash throughout my body despite the bandages wrapping it together.
I want nothing more but to fall asleep and forget everything I’ve been through. And despite the time I still have left, a clock ticking faintly in the distance, as my body continues to wear down…
A part of me hopes I don’t wake up.
