Electric Dreams is a sci-fi romantic comedy film released on July 20th, 1984. It was directed by Steve Barron, written by Rusty Lemorande, and starring Lenny Von Dohlen, Virginia Madsen, Maxwell Caulfield, and the voice of Bud Cort. Basically, in shorter terms, it's probably my favorite movie ever.

This movie follows the story of Miles Harding, a man who buys a computer to help him stay organized and on-time for his job where he plans to create a brick that is strong enough to withstand the forceful motions of an earthquake. A new neighbor named Madeline moves in next door, and the two begin to bond. In a sudden turn of events, Miles accidentally spills champagne all over the computer's motherboard while trying to upload data, and it begins forming a mind of its own, and naming itself Edgar.

Edgar soon finds himself falling in love with Madeline, harmonizing in tune with her music and learning to speak via word processing. Anyways, that's a general synopsis of the movie. I won't spoil any other details, but I seriously recommend watching the movie. You can find the entire film on youtube to watch for free! Anyways, the following text below will contain major spoilers, so if you haven't watched it yet and want to avoid that, I'd recommend doing so before reading the rest of this!

Okay general information aside. This is the part of the shrine where I start ranting about the movie like a maniac Because i love it Way Too Much. I love edgar a very normal amount. he's so silly and moles was so MEAN to him for NO REASONNNNN 💢💢💢 the movie should have just ended with edgar admitting he's bisexual and the three of them all just form a polyamorous relationship instead Sighhhh

i think one of the main reasons i love this movie so much was because i introduced it to my friends on a discord call and we all went feral over edgar and i cried at the ending (again). probably one of my favorite friend memories. i remember we all set edgar as our PFPs for a while 😭

anyways i just really like the movie in general cause silly computer and silly music and Yeah its just super duper underrated. i absolutely recommend it. Its aweom. Flies away joyously
